Heavenly vs. Demonic WISDOM

James is asking the question, “Who is wise and understanding among you?”

Let’s recall just who he is talking to.  He is talking to the Christians of the church who would be teachers.

First, he is letting them know that being a teacher, they will “receive a stricter judgment.” (James 3:1)

Luke 12:48 – But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.

Secondly, that they need to control their tongue, (And I know that I made it very clear, to the point of ad nauseum).  And remember, the uncontrolled tongue was said to come from the fires of Gehenna.  (James 3:6)
