Daniel 1:1-12

In 605BC, Babylonian King, Nebuchadnezzar, conquered the nation of Judah and the surrounding nations.

Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (Likely between the ages of 14-18) were 4 "young men" who met the criteria to be selected to serve the king of Babylonia. Imagine being between the age of 14 & 18, and taking a stand to not be fed the food the king ordered to be served and quite possibly dying for the stance. Of course this was only a precursor to what was coming for the 4 of them during their captivity in Babylon.
